Intellectual property: Clash gets to heart of how to build a ‘better life for all’

This is an article by Dr Eve Gray about the Intellectual Property Act, passed by Parliament at the instigation of the Department of Science and Technology in December last year which requires universities and other publicly funded research organisations to secure intellectual property rights and patents from as much of their research as possible, frowning upon open innovation and open source.
