NUST Medical School to re-open
The coalition government has pledged support for the resuscitation of the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) School of Medicine, which was shut down four years ago due to resource constraints. The Faculty of Medicine at NUST, which had started running since 2005, was closed in 2007 after the Health Professions Authority complained that its training facilities were below the minimum required standards. Following its closure, the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education transferred over 30 students who were enrolled there to the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) in Harare.
