University of Zululand: Community Service

Community service covers a field as varied as hydrology projects to provide water for drinking and irrigation, computer-based education to upgrade school teachers’ qualifications, agricultural and other assistance programmes to help subsistence farmers and fledgling business entrepreneurs, and community health programmes. For example, Unizul’s award-winning DramAide Project has a proven track record in combating HIV/Aids effectively. Unizul has been selected as the South African partner of the newly launched Global HIV/AIDS Alliance Programme that is aimed at improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations.
