|BUILDING CAPACITY FOR LEADERSHIP AND QUALITY|
Now in its 11th year, the OLC’s IELOL serves the development needs of emerging leaders responsible for a variety of digital learning initiatives in higher education. Building on the success of the IELOL internationally, SARUA is delighted that this highly sought-after programme will now be available to participants from the SADC and the rest of the African continent at a more affordable rate.
IELOL participants work with colleagues from around the world to explore and understand both the opportunities and barriers to advancing local and global online learning. Programme alumni join a growing network of online leaders in higher education focused on improving and advancing the impact of digital learning on all aspects and formats of higher education.
The IELOL programme is designed for those with leadership responsibilities related to digital and online learning initiatives within their institution with occupational titles such as manager, director, deputy director, deputy vice chancellor, etc.
The inaugural IELOL Africa Programme consists of the following components:
In addition, programme alumni will be encouraged to attend the OLC IELOL master workshop in Orlando, Florida on November 2020, followed by the annual OLC conference in November 2020. Alumni will also become part of the OLC global community.

The programme fee is $ 1750 per participant (ZAR 24 500), compared to the fee of $ 2950 per participant for the IELOL programme in the USA. SARUA is exploring the possibility of securing a limited number of scholarships for the programme.
